U-CDX CH Marnetts Grant My Wish UDX, RE, JH, CGC

Grant was the first pup born in a litter of 15 puppies on January 16, 1995. Since his birth he has been a special dog. I can remember looking out the back window and see him watching me, as a 7 week old pup. Such natural attention just screamed, "Keep me and watch how far we can go in competitive obedience." And Grant and I did go far. Grant was the first Chesapeake Champion male to earn the UDX title.

But while he accomplished much for me in obedience, his passion was working in the field. Hunting up birds in heavy cover was particularly exciting for him, and he loved to bring in the big birds. I can remember one hunt test where the labs and the goldens were having difficulties picking up these huge ducks. But when Grant ran out there he picked the duck up, tossed it slightly in the air, caught it and brought it beautifully back to me. The duck was still alive!! His sister ran the same test and had the same love of big birds.

Living close to Hollywood, Grant has starred in a nationwide Alpo commercial. He was cast when he was quite young, less than 2 years of age. He handled the training with ease, the shot with animation, and all of the commotion of the set with a personable confidence.

Throughout his life, Grant has loved to train. He was joyous, not in just the learning of a new exercise, but the spending of time with his trainer, me. And I loved knowing that this dog would do anything he could for me. His loyalty and devotion has been endearing.

A very easy dog to live with, very mellow in the house, but always very energetic when asked to work, train, or just play. Grant has been successful as a stud dog too. He has several Champion children, many more with points towards their Championships. Pups of his have been hunted, trained for obedience and agility, and are fabulous pets.
