"Summer"
Born Jan 16, 1995
If one word was needed to describe Summer it would be contradiction.
She is a contrary mix of wonderfulness.
She has always been a very active dog. Running all day, playing in the hose, leaping in joy in the water, hiking, swimming, being the boss of all that goes on in the home. Yet, when in the home, her favorite place to be is on the bed curled up by her person.
Summer loves to be the center of attention. Around people she knows Summer is quite the hostess. Everyone gets her attention, pets her, and gives her loving. Yet, Summer hated the show ring. Her eyes would glaze over, trot with lackluster, and generally show everyone disdain.
Take Summer to the park and she would play with all the young children on the play yards. Jumping on the bridges, up the stairs, slide down the slides, she was always a favorite for the children to play with and watch, yet Summer would not shine in the agility training yards.
Summer is a great girl, who was very intelligent, she just did not share my idea of fun. But without question, her role in life was to be a mother. In this area she shone. Her pups were ever so clean, well fed, and trained by her.
She loved to play with them, she showed them how to retrieve birds and toys, and she would show them how to swim. Now that she is an older gal, and is no longer having babes of her own, she still dotes on the pups that share our home. Teaching them right from wrong, cleaning them if they get dinner on themselves, and showing them the fun of the kiddie pools is her passion.
We love Summer and could not imagine life without her contrary wonderful nature.
